The present cricket club recently celebrated its 40th year, having been formed in 1968. We moved to our present home in 1989 at which time the bowls club was also formed. The pavilion was built by our own members and opened in 1993. The club has expanded greatly over the last decade and we were awarded Clubmark accreditation last year by the ECB to confirm we are a club of excellence for cricket, providing quality coaching by qualified coaches. We operate the ECB 'Safe Hands and Equality policies' and encourage all to take part in sport for better health, for building friendships and respect for others but mainly to come and have fun. The 1st XI & 2nd XI's joined the Pontefract & District League in 1995. The 1st XI was promoted to Division 1 in 2001 and was crowned league champions in 2003 & 2004. Since then the 1st XI has also enjoyed some notable cup success. The 2nd XI started in Division 6 & has risen through the divisions competing against many clubs 1st XI's & for 4 successive seasons 2003-2006 were the highest ranked 2nd XI in the whole league.
